Join Brothers from across the nation when we come together for the 43rd meeting of the Grand Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, July 31 - August 3, 2008. You will enjoy the lavish surroundings of the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel located at a bustling outdoor mall located in western suburban St. Louis. A variety of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues share the St. Louis Westport Plaza. Conveniently located just five miles from St. Louis' Lambert International Airport on Interstate 270, in the heart of the nation, it is easily accessible to all. The hotel offers free parking.
The Grand Chapter is the supreme governing body of Sigma Tau Gamma. As a delegate from your chapter, alumni association or alumni chapter, you will help to elect our next generation of national leaders and shape the Constitution, Laws and Ritual that will govern and guide our 88 year old brotherhood into the next decade.
 Who Should Attend?
Every college chapter and colony is required to send at least one representative to the Grand Chapter. College chapters and colonies are eligible to have two voting delegates. Those with 40 or more members may have three voting delegates. Alumni Associations and alumni chapters may have one voting delegate.
This is also an important meeting for our national officers: regional vice presidents, program vice presidents, district directors, expansion directors and alumni directors. Our Board of Directors, Trustees of the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation, Past National Presidents and members of the Society of the Seventeen participate as well. At the Grand Chapter you will build the personal relationships that will make your Sigma Tau Gamma avocation more productive and enjoyable.
Chapter advisors will find the Grand Chapter to be equally beneficial. There is much to learn, both formally and informally. And, the relationships you build will help you serve the young men of your chapter.
All brothers of Sigma Tau Gamma are encouraged to attend the 43rd Grand Chapter, particularly our emerging leaders. If you are new to Sigma Tau Gamma and plan on being a chapter officer, participation in the Grand Chapter will give you a head start.
What is the Cost?
The registration fee is $295 per person. It includes four major meal functions (Thursday evening Opening Ceremonies, Dinner and Theme Party, Friday Awards Luncheon, Saturday Awards Breakfast and the Saturday evening Grand Banquet and Closing Ceremonies), Grand Chapter Favor, Legislative and Programs Materials, Meeting Facilities and Services, and Registration Materials and Name Tag. (We've held the line on the registration fee. It is the same as 2006.)
If your college chapter or colony is current on its financial obligations with the Fraternity (no outstanding dues or fees), your chapter will qualify for up to two complimentary registrations. (Complimentary registrations must apply to fully initiated members in good standing of your chapter participating as delegates to the Grand Chapter. A single member may qualify for no more than one complimentary registration.)
Our special Grand Chapter room rate at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel is just $109 per night. The rate applies to single, double, triple or quad occupancy. (If four brothers from your chapter share a room, you can get by for just over $30 per night per person, including tax. Any person occupying a room at our convention rate must be registered for the Grand Chapter.) Plan to spend at least three nights in the hotel (Thursday, July 31, Friday, August 1, and Saturday, August 2, 2008).
Spouses and non-member guests are welcome at the $195 non-member guest registration fee (this fee does not include participation in the business and fraternal meetings of the Grand Chapter.) Registration for children of registered members under the age of 14 is complimentary.
What do I wear?
Business casual dress is appropriate for all meetings and events of the Grand Chapter except the Grand Banquet and Closing Ceremonies which is black tie optional (dress jacket and necktie required.)
