Board of Trustees (Executive Committee)

President

William Hardebeck, DMF

Brother Hardebeck, Alpha Beta '69 (Harris-Stowe State College), received his MED at the University of Missouri-St. Louis in Elementary Administration, and is now a retired elementary school principal in the St. Louis school district. Brother Hardebeck was first elected to the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation Board of Trustees in 1988. He served as President of the St. Louis Alumni Chapter and as Dean of Chapter Leadership Institute from 1988-90. He was the 1993 recipient of the Millsap Medal for distinguished service to the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation and was inducted into the Society of the Seventeen in 1998. Brother Hardebeck served the Fraternity as Director of Chapter Development from 2000-2003.

Senior Vice President
Michael D. Schermer, IMF

Brother Schermer, Gamma Psi Honorary, serves as the Director of the Office of Student Life at Illinois State University. Brother Schermer was the 28th National President of the Fraternity. In 1982 he was the recipient of the "Prof." Grubbs Distinguished Advisor Award and in 1994 he was the recipient of the Millsap Medal for distinguished service to the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation. He also served as Gamma Psi's Chapter faculty advisor for more than 22 years.

Vice President of Development
Joseph Feldhouse, CMF

Brother Feldhouse, Beta Upsilon '69, (Cleveland State University) is the retired Vice President of Business Development for Solvay Pharmaceuticals in Marietta, Georgia. Joe served on the Fraternity's Board of Directors from 1996-2002. His first term on the Foundation Board of Trustees ran from 1988-1996, and resumed upon retiring from the Board of Directors in 2002. Joe was a District Governor from 1971-1985, and served the Beta Upsilon Alumni Association as President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer. Brother Feldhouse was inducted into the Society of Seventeen in 2004 at the 41st Grand Chapter in Kansas City, MO.

Vice President of Programs
Paul Szczesny, DMF

Brother Szczesny, Gamma Chi ‘81, (Michigan Technological University) is a Senior Research Engineer for S.C. Johnson. Paul served the Fraternity as the Regional Vice President of the Great Lakes Region from 1996-2002. He has served the Foundation since 1989 and is a Hembree Guild Member. Paul was also awarded the "Prof." Grubbs Distinguished Advisor Award in 1995.

Paul S. Motin, JD, LLM, CPA, PMF

Brother Motin, Beta Xi '82, (Winona State University) practices law at Motin Law Office, P.A. Brother Motin was elected to the Foundation Board of Trustees in 2002. Paul served his undergraduate chapter as Chapter President, Executive Vice President, VP of Finance, and VP of Membership.

Treasurer
Dr. Maurine P. Achauer, DMF

Dr. Achauer, was named honorary White Rose of Sigma Tau Gamma in 1972 and is regarded as the official hostess for visitors to the Marvin Millsap Headquarters Building in Warrensburg. Dr. Achauer was elected to the Board of Trustees in 1973, and has served as Treasurer since 1982. Her late husband, Reynolds, was a 1925 Alpha Chapter initiate.

Kenley R. Hoover, DMF

Brother Hoover, Pi '57, (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), was President of the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation from 1990-1999, and is the founder of the Books for Kids Program. A member of the Fraternity's Board of Directors from 1976-1988, Hoover served as Sigma Tau Gamma's 22nd National President from 1982-1984. In 1984, Brother Hoover was the recipient of the Millsap Medal for distinguished service to the Sigma Tau Gamma Foundation. He was inducted into the Society of the Seventeen at the 1993 National Conclave in Indianapolis.

Albert "Duff" Young, IMF

Brother Young, Alpha Zeta '67, (Clarion University of Pennsylvania), operates his own executive recruiting firm after having served as President and CEO of Rehrig International and Formica Inc. Brother Young has served as a Foundation Trustee since 1999 and was President from 2002-2004. He is the recipient of the 1999 Distinguished Achievement Award.

Dr. Robert E. Bernier, EMF
Brother Bernier, Iota '71, (Kent State University), has served as a Trustee since 1984. He was named Editor Emeritus of The Saga of Sigma Tau Gamma in 1984 after 11 years of unparalleled service. He served the College Fraternity Editors Association as its 55th President from 1981-1982. Bob was a member of the fraternity's professional staff from 1971-1973, serving as Assistant Executive Director. In 1976, Brother Bernier was awarded the Winebrenner Medal for Distinguished Fraternity Service and in 2002 was inducted into the Society of Seventeen at the 40th Grand Chapter in New Orleans.

Eric H. Hillman, DMF
Brother Hillman, Alpha Lambda '83 (Concord College), is CEO of Europa Sports Products. He previously served as Vice President of the Wilson C. Morris Fellowship and continues to serve today as President of the Alpha Lambda Alumni Association. As an undergraduate, Eric was Vice President of Membership for his chapter.

Mark S. Smith, PMF
Brother Smith, Alpha '85 (Central Missouri State University) is the Manager of Reverse Logistics for Sprint Consumer Services in Overland Park, Kansas. Brother Smith is the Alpha Chapter Counselor, and has served in that position since 2001. Mark worked on the fraternity's professional staff from 1988-1990 as Chapter Services Director and has served on the faculty of the Academy of Principled Leaders from 2002-2004.

R. Michael Webb, IMF

Brother Webb, Alpha '67 (Central Missouri State University), is the chairman and founder of U-FUEL Corporation and Webb Development Corporation. He has served as a Foundation Trustee since 1977. Brother Webb was Treasurer of the Foundation from 1980-1982, and served as the Foundation President from 1982-87. Brother Webb was the recipient of the Distinguished Achievement Award in 2002 at the 40th Grand Chapter in New Orleans.

Thomas Wood, Sr., IMF
Brother Wood, Alpha Phi '66 (Southeast Missouri State) is retired from American Cities Business Journals, where he was a publisher and vice president of human resources. He is a former editor of the SAGA of Sigma Tau Gamma and was elected to the Foundation Board of Trustees in 1981 and served until 1988 when he was elected to the Fraternity Board of Directors. In 1994 he returned to the Foundation, serving as Vice President of Programs. He served as President of the Foundation from 200-2002.

Dr. Thomas Janicki, EMF
Brother Janicki, Delta Xi ’74 (Carnegie Mellon University) is a professor of Information Systems at the University of North Carolina - Wilmington. He was the 31st National President of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity from 2000-2002. Prior to his election to the Fraternity Board of Directors in 1992, he served the Fraternity in a variety of roles including alumni advisor for Delta Xi Chapter and Regional Vice President of the Three Rivers Region. In 1998 he was the recipient of the Winebrenner Medal for Distingushed Fraternity Service. In 1997 he was the recipient of the Millsap Medal for Distinguished service to the Sigma Tau Gamma’s Foundation.

W. T. Hembree, DMF
Brother Hembree, Epsilon ‘42 (Pittsburg State University) is a retired Sprint Corporation human resources executive who served the Fraternity as its 12th National President. He chaired the Golden Challenge Campaign, started in 1970 to fund the construction of the permanent headquarters of Sigma Tau Gamma on its Founding site and was the first five figure donor to the Foundation. He is one of the original members of The Society of the Seventeen. In 1985 he received Millsap Medal for Distinguished Foundation service.

Brother Connor,
Delta Epsilon ‘85 (Southwest Texas State University) is the former Secretary of State of the State of Texas who now operates is own international investment firm. He was a founder of his chapter and was the recipient of the 2004 Young Alumnus Distinguished Achievement Award.

Brother Becnel, Phi ‘93 (Louisiana State University) operates his own fund raising firm. He was the Southern Regional Vice President from 2003 - 2005.

Brother Morgan,
Phi '85 (Southeastern Louisiana State University) is a tax attorney in Baton Rouge, LA. He was president of Phi Chapter as an undergraduate and currently serves as the Southern Regional Vice President.
