 As a college man, you have lifetime goals. You deliberately decided to pursue a college education to help you achieve those goals. You selected a specific university that you believed was the best fit for you.
Once on campus, you found that your opportunities and challenges were varied. Some of them you expected. Some you did not.
The decision to join a college fraternity is both an opportunity and a challenge. It is a decision filled with both hope and concern. It is not a decision to be made without thoughtful consideration.
Will I fit in? Will my fraternity brothers become my lifelong friends?
Will membership in a fraternity help or hurt academically?
How will a fraternity help me achieve my ultimate career and family goals?
The choice is unique for each person. Perhaps you will find that Sigma Tau Gamma is the right choice for you.
The purpose of Sigma Tau Gamma is to promote the highest ideals of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship according to the Principles of our Fraternity.
Our purpose is not static – it is dynamic. The pursuit of manhood, brotherhood and citizenship is a journey. Each day we travel further along the path of what it means to be a man, a brother, and a citizen.
 For this reason, joining Sigma Tau Gamma is not similar to joining a club. It is a lifelong commitment. Wonderfully, it is a commitment not made alone, but made by, with and to brothers. This mutual commitment strengthens each of us.
Sigma Tau Gamma is not a place where you lose personal identity. It is a place where you find it. Your interaction with fellow brothers who mutually care for each other, in the context of lofty ideals, will test your ideas and help you formulate convictions that sustain a truly principled adult life.
There are two ways to begin the Sig Tau for Life journey. The most common is to join an existing chapter. We can help put you in contact with the Vice President of Membership for the chapter at your campus. Click Here.
If there is no chapter at your campus, you may be able to start one. If so, you will be a founder of a new chapter. Click expansion@sigmataugamma.org to reach our Director of Expansion.
To be a member of Sigma Tau Gamma, you must be a student in good academic standing. If you are a first semester student, you must have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 2.30.
Sigma Tau Gamma is a member fraternity of the North-American Interfraternity Conference (NIC). The membership of NIC fraternities is mutually exclusive. That is, you may not be a member of more than one NIC fraternity.
