June 12, 2012 - The 45th Grand Chapter will host undergraduate members and alumni in Washington D.C. on August 2-5, 2012 to discuss and decide upon some of the Fraternity's important issues. But, the Grand Chapter shouldn't be the only time Sig Tau members should gather. Plan a reunion with your undergraduates and alumni members. Here are five things to get you started on planning a reunion everyone will remember.

Involvement:
Before you plan your event, involve your undergraduate chapter and the Sig Tau Headquarters. Organize a committee of undergraduate chapter members to help with the planning and the execution of the event. By involving the Fraternity Headquarters, you are able to spread the word of your event through the Sig Tau's social media platforms, the Latest News section, and the SAGA.

The 45th Grand Chapter Facebook page provides an example of an event page.

Time:
Plan your reunion around a milestone event. This can be during your university's homecoming festivities or if you have a chapter anniversary. For example Delta Xi is celebrating 25 years and Beta Chi is celebrating 50 years this year!

Notify:
Send out two notifications about your reunion. The first notice should be sent to attendees well in advance with a tentative schedule of events and RSVP. The second notification should be an official invitation with additional information (hotel, finalized schedule of events, directions/maps, etc.). An example of this would be the Call to the Grand Chapter, which is now available!

Open Communication:
Have open communication with the attendees by providing an email and phone number of the committee chair(s). This allows the attendees to contact them with questions and concerns.

Entertainment:
Whether your event is one day or over a weekend, establish multiple activities the attendees will be able activities to participate in. For example, visit a local monument, attend a sporting event or a barbecue at the chapter house. At the 45th Grand Chapter, attendees will get to visit the Arlington National Cemetery and the hotel is within walking distance of many other attractions. By have exciting and memorable activities, attendees will likely come back for future events.
