February 25, 2013 - Collegiate and alumni members of Sigma Tau Gamma gathered in Atlanta, Georgia February 21-23, for the 2013 Southeastern Interfraternity Conference Leadership Academy (SEIFC). The academy brings together IFC councils from across the Southeast United States and provides a chance for participants to network and exchange ideas with other IFC councils, while gaining leadership skills and knowledge during educational sessions.

During the three-day academy, participants attend a wide variety of educational sessions with topics that include academic achievement, recruitment, social media, communication, expansion, and more. Council and chapter officers can participate in the Council Officer Roundtable Education (CORE) program that consists of tracks focused on risk management, chapter presidents, recruitment, public relations, and treasurers.

For the 3rd year in a row, Sigma Tau Gamma Headquarters staff was involved the SEIFC. On Friday afternoon of the academy, Director of Expansion Michael Smoll, presented a session on the professionalization of fraternity expansion which described how the fraternity expansion landscape continues to evolve and also provided ten tips for successful fraternity expansion.
