Where Am I? Alpha Chi Provisional Chapter, University of Illinois

photo-1April 5, 2012 - Springtime on a college campus is one of the greatest things in the history of civilization. The sun is shining, and the campus is filled with the first signs of life after a long winter. The shorts are on, the birds are singing, and the quad is filled with students, divided equally between the frisbee throwers and the study groups who long for summer, but are forced to wait for final exams to end before basking in its joy. This spring, the tulips and daisies aren't the only things sprouting up at the University of Illinois, where fellow expansion counselor, Paul Manly, and myself are replanting the roots of the Alpha Chi Chapter.

Paul and I have been on campus here in Champaign-Urbana since March 5, seeking recommendations and hosting interviews for the emerging campus leaders who will become the re-Founding Fathers of the Alpha Chi Chapter. Since our arrival, we've received more than 350 personal recommendations of men to reach out to. As of April 2, we've extended 21 invitations to men on the campus to become Founding Fathers, and we expect to give between 40 and 55 bids to membership before the project concludes in mid-April. We're very excited to grow both our brotherhood and the Greek community here at Illinois.

If you know a high-performing student on the University of Illinois campus and would like to help us reach out to them, please contact the Headquarters directly at 660-747-2222, or send an email to Paul or Derek.
