Dec. 15, 2011 – It is with great sympathy and sadness that we announce the passing of Maj. Samuel Griffith, Alpha Psi ’97 (Penn State University). Brother Griffith joined the Chapter Eternal on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011 while serving in Afghanistan. He was a U. S. Marine Corps reservist on his third tour of duty.

Griffith was a Roskens Scholar and graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in science. He was commissioned into the Marine Corps in 1997.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Samuel's family. He is survived by his wife, Cassandra, and two sons, Chad and Noah. He is also survived by his parents, William Griffith and Kathleen Bischoff.
