Sigma Tau Gamma plans to expand to the University of North Carolina-Charlotte during the fall 2011 semester. A Sig Tau Chapter has never previously been established as part of the Greek life on this campus.49ers

“We are in the process of extreme growth at UNCC, bringing a new organization to campus every semester for the next four semesters,” said Michelle Guobadia, director of fraternity and sorority life. “We appreciate Sig Tau’s interest and vision of wanting to be in our fraternity and sorority community for the long haul and its partnership with Phired UP Productions.”

UNCC, located in the state’s largest city, has more than 25,000 students. The university has seven professional colleges with more than 170 academic programs. UNCC, home of the Charlotte 49ers, is a NCAA Division 1 school. There are currently 12 active fraternities in the Interfraternity Council on this campus.

“The University of North Carolina-Charlotte is a leading institution and Sigma Tau Gamma is very excited to become part of the UNCC fraternity and sorority community,” said Sig Tau Director of Expansion Michael Smoll. “I am looking forward to working with Michelle and the students at UNCC as we prepare for the on campus expansion effort this fall."

Sig Tau is currently looking for Charlotte area alumni to work with this expansion process and help establish our Fraternity on the UNCC campus. If you are interested, please contact Michael Smoll at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
