Read more and register for the 45th Grand Chapter. General Information About the Grand Chapter The Grand Chapter brings together members of all ages representing their college chapters, alumni associations and alumni chapters in order to discuss and decide upon some of the most important issues of the Fraternity. Occurring during the first week of August of even-numbered years, this event brings together the members of Sigma Tau Gamma in order to determine the direction the Fraternity will take in the coming years. The location of Grand Chapter changes each year, from New Orleans to Washington D.C., allowing members to not only enjoy the camaraderie of one another, but also experience the excitement of a new city. At the Grand Chapter, the brotherhood elects the Fraternity President and Board of Directors, considers legislation, including amendments to the Constitution and Laws, learns about Fraternity programs, recognizes individual and chapter accomplishments, and enjoys fraternal brotherhood. All brothers are encouraged to attend the Grand Chapter. Every chapter and provisional chapter is required to send at least one voting delegate to the Grand Chapter, but Chapters with 40 or more members may have three voting delegates, and those with less than 40 members may have two voting delegates. Alumni associations and chapters may have one voting delegate. A voting delegate is a brother who has been elected to represent his chapter, provisional chapter, alumni chapter or alumni association. Grand Chapter meetings are first class affairs. Held at premier cities and hotels, they involve the ritual and pageantry of our heritage, the recognition of our outstanding chapters and leaders (undergraduate and alumni), and formulation of our future.
